On 8 March 2017, in celebration of International Women’s Day, more than 80 women gathered to form #theSIScode. Organised by StartUp Asia Women (SAW), the event represents a milestone as enterprising women gathered in desire to support and guide one another. Recyclogic was one of the three prominent female-founded start-ups invited to share, at which CEO Muriel Boutin-Becuwe engaged in a dialogue session with SAW Founder Christina Teoh. In addition, Bolt Media’s Chan Yi Wen and Wander’s Krystal Choo took turns with the mic that night. Our Recyclogic interns, Hui Ying and Kristine, also volunteered at the event.
In groups, women from diverse backgrounds came together to establish sis codes, penning down on post-its, marking the significance of IWD and the female collective. Following which, the three respectable founders shortlisted finalists, and the crowd cheered for their favourite codes, thereby formulating #theSIScode for enterprise women in Singapore. Indeed, Recyclogic has successfully helped hotels reduce waste and strengthen their CSR, while making significant community impact through donations to beneficiaries, and will continue to do so. However, the glory of it all comes from the shear dedication of individuals who dream to make a change. Cheers to all enterprising individuals out there!
